Horse Riding

We spend lots of time in the morning reading books. Lately, Charlie has taken to riding on dad and calling it a horse ride. I think that Charlie enjoys this a bit more than Tom. Especially those times that Charlie has attempted to ride the horse while naked!

Play Dough & Dishes

Last Monday, I quickly needed to change my plans for the water park into something else. This crazy Seattle summer brought us rain that day. So, Charlie and I made play dough and had lots of fun creating all kinds of shapes with scissors.

Do notice the guitar pajamas. Charlie would wear a guitar clothing item all the time if he could. Sometimes it is very difficult to get him to understand that the guitar pants are for night time, not the day.
Charlie has really been into doing the dishes with momma. When Tom is doing the dishes, he usually isn't quite as excited. I think mom lets him get water all over the place much more than dad does as he is more into getting them washed fast. Anyway, here is a picture of Charlie enjoying naked time and the dishes.
As you can see, we have lots of different sprays out when Charlie and Mom do the dishes. Charlie likes to spray the floor when water gets on it so it will be really, really clean.
Charlie is all on his own for this dish washing!

Farmer's Market Harvest & Friends

OK, this isn't either of the above, but pretty cute show of the eating boy. He loved licking the jam off his english muffin and drinking from this huge cup! Charlie and I took a fruitful trip to the Des Moines Farmers Market yesterday. Charlie ate his way through the market, so I was a little surprised to see him eat all these peas and an entire cheese quesadilla. This posed smile makes me smile. I love it!
Here are the buddies playing on Charlie's couch. They have had a couple play dates lately, which has been great.
I had to include this because they both wanted the phone. Emmett actually dialed a recently called number and my mom picked up the phone. The boys were really surprised with this event. Here they are talking on the phone to my mom in Spokane.

Thomas the Train Day in Snoqualmie - July 16

A few weeks ago when Seattle was still trying to catch-up to summer, we had tickets for a very fun boy outing. Unfortunately, we were somewhat rained out from some of the outdoor activities, but not all the fun!
Charlie really didn't want to pose for photos on the train ride. In fact, when we got on the train, he asked to get off. So, it was with a little nervousness that we embarked on our trip.
Charlie was able to tour one of the old engines. Here he is posing and smiling near the wheels. This train was a highlight of our day.
Looking out the train window at the scenery going by. We went right by a train graveyard of sorts. Pretty cool to see that many trains up close.
Having fun on in the train displays. We were amazed at how many Thomas the Train items we could buy. We got out with one train and a painting book. We felt lucky.
Charlie wasn't sure what to think about getting a train tattoo on his hand. However, he really liked it in the week following the event and showing it off to friends and family.

2011 4th of July Camping with friends

This past 4th of July, we headed over towards Leavenworth to go camping with three other families. This has become a rather regular camping trip for us to take, but this is the first time we ventured out with Charlie in tow. Although we got lost on the way there, which made for a not so fun arrival for all but Charlie, we ended up having a great time. Of course, my camera was not out as often as I would have liked to have some really great photos of the trip to share. I missed most of the parents and the entire Squires family!

Here is a shot of Auggie and Rose enjoying a yummy camp time dessert!

That is Tom standing with Charlie at Icicle Creek. Sorry Tom for cutting off your head. Emmett and Charlie had tons of fun playing in the shallow water on this side of the log as well as throwing dozens of rocks into the creek.
This may have been one of the slowest walks we have been on, but we had fun. Charlie is really into holding Emmett's hands when they are together. Cute!
We can never escape baseball. Tom is teaching Charlie how to swing. It is made a bit tougher by the fact that Charlie likes to hold his mitt at the same time as he is holding the bat.
The Yodelings are the parents with the most experience with packing for kiddos. This was a favorite toy, a remote control car. Several squabbles were had over who got to drive. Here is Charlie taking his turn. If you look closely, you can see the car off on the right side.

Lots of activity!

I finally felt like I could take Charlie to the Children's Museum in Seattle this past Monday. He certainly remembers the boat, motor bike, bus, and the fire truck. He ran me ragged between all the above mentioned attractions. However, this time he really enjoyed playing the drums. He was a rather serious drummer, but certainly enjoyed the drum stick.
Please ignore the flash in the upper right corner. This was a big moment as Charlie figured out how to climb on the motor bike all by himself! He wasn't really happy though until I sat in the side car so that he could drive us to Maddy and Ella's house - our favorite pretend destination.
Last Sunday we hosted a baby shower for our friends Caroline and Joe. We are so looking forward to meeting their baby in August! Towards the end of the party, most of the kids took off their shirts and formed a band. Here are Auggie, Emmett and Charlie grooving.
We played a game that was done at my baby shower. Each person got to see how much water they could drink out of a bottle in three minutes. It was a blast to watch! Nannette, the woman on the couch won the game. But, everyone else worked hard to clean out that water. Charlie participated with his sippy cup as well.
The Wagner clan enjoys mornings in bed together. Charlie has to have a snack and milk, then we read books. Here is another example of his posed smile for the camera.

Vashon Family Outing

A couple weekends ago, we took the ferry boat over to Vashon Island hoping to see some cows, pigs and chickens. We didn't see the animals, but were able to find a great park!

Charlie met a new friend who asked to ride this tire with him. I love the look he is giving in this shot!
I caught a little smile.
Charlie drove us back to Seattle in the car. As we were the first car, it seemed like Charlie was steering the ferry as well. Here is his current "smile".
Our view of Seattle.
