Does Charlie Smile?

Tom and I often get this question in regards to our son. He is Mr. Serious and Mr. Observer. It is nature. I heard this past weekend from my mother-in-law the requset to post a picture of Charlie smiling on the blog as they are few and far between. So, I went back and found the few to post. Enjoy.

A happy boy finishing a meal with mommy.

Trying on his turtle backpack.

Here is he smiling in a family picture.

This is a hat his Nonnie knit for him. Tom calls him rasta man when he wears it.

Cool shades!

Dana and Emmett come to play

My friend Dana now joins me in the world of no work on Mondays. So, last week she and her son Emmett came over to play and eat lunch. I'm looking forward to more days like this ahead. As luck would have it, when we got our cameras out, the boys would not pose together for us. However, the photo with the two shows development differences. Charlie is crawling and Emmett has moved into walking. Dana bought both Charlie and Emmett these cool squeaking shoes that they are both wearing.

The Wagner family finally meet baby Hamish!

Good friends, Pat and Eileen had a baby back in January. We were finally able to head to Bellingham to meet Hamish and see his parents. He is an adorable guy and one that Charlie enjoyed spending time with. We got the boys to pose for us on their own and then with their dads.

Easter Poses

We spent Easter weekend in Spokane and had Easter dinner at Beth's home. We enjoyed good food and company. After dinner we posed for a few different shots. It was time to get an 11 month photo of our nuclear family. So, this was the perfect time. Then, we usually get a photo of the ladies in the family. It seemed time to get the men. This photo also has a rare camera grin from Charlie.

Tom as the cool uncle

Madeline and Ella have Tom wrapped around their little fingers at times. Somehow Tom agreed to roast marshmallows in our fireplace with the girls. Everyone had a great time. Charlie really, really wanted to hold one of those sticks. He continously tried to climb out of his Nonnies' arms. He didn't quite understand why the girls could and he couldn't hold on to a stick. Tom has since said this was not the smartest decision he ever made and we wouldn't do this again. But, it was fun while it lasted.

Family comes for part of spring break

Charlie really enjoyed a visit from his big cousins (Madeline and Ella) as well as his Aunt Kristin, Nonnie and Boppa. Here is Charlie soaking in the love.

Maddy and Ella helped Charlie eat breakfast.

Not in big agreement with the milk.

We took the girls to the zoo. Charlie slept most of the time in the stroller, but here is a few shots while he was awake. We look forward to taking him back when he is a bit more mobile.

Saltwater State Park

We took a family outing to a local state park right on the Puget Sound. It was pretty cold this day, but we enjoyed our time outdoors. The picture above is a shot of Charlie enjoying his seat on Daddy and talking about his experience.

Charlie actually looked at the camera while Tom is looking up at the blackberry bushes. Tom told Charlie that he would make him a blackberry pie this year! Yum.

Charlie loves to touch different bushes. He also has become a fan of holding sticks. When he holds a stick he gets really chatty.

Mommy and Charlie looking out at the ocean.

Charlie is exploring more food choices

As many of you know, Charlie has struggled with eating different textures and enough food. He is beginning to show more interest and explores more and more textures. We are so grateful for the work we do with Katie (Speech Therapist). She gives all of us more confidence. Here is a few random food shots we have taken recently. The picture above is beets and the ones below are his exploring "Joe O's". They are gluten free cheerios we found at Trader Joes.
