Baby Bjorn

Well, we finally tested out the Baby Bjorn last evening. Charlie loved it! We took him on a short walk around the neighborhood. He is such an alert baby who is so interested in the world which makes this contraption perfect for him. He was able to turn his little head all around and look at the world as it went by him. Here are two pictures from the outing. As you may guess, the focus is more on Charlie than on his photogenic dad.

Family visits & Ocean Shores

This was one busy week for Charlie. He met his great grandfather Tony and Donna who were passing through town on their way back to California. We had a lot of fun joining them for dinner. He also got to meet his uncle Matt. Pictures of both are included here. It was great to see this family with Charlie. Tom and I love how much love Charlie receives from his family.

We also took a trip to Ocean Shores as a nuclear family. Tom worked long, long days while Charlie and I spent good quality time together in a "condo". Not quite like the comforts of home. We learned quickly that travelling with children isn't real easy. Charlie had troubles adjusting and we learned what parents of colicky children must feel like. He went back to sleeping only 2-4 hour stints at night, screamed much and was very clingy. Needless to say, we are all grateful to be home. The other pictures here are from that trip. We tried to take a quick walk to the beach, which is the picture with a blanket over Charlie. It was really windy, so we only made it to the beach and then turned right around and returned to the room.

Don't want to jinx our long sleep nights...

But, for the past three nights Charlie has slept between six and six and a half hours. We are happy and better rested people. Our camera battery has been fixed. Just in time for Beth and Eric to come visit. Eric hasn't held too many young babies, but he did great and Charlie loved meeting him. Here are a few pictures of their visit and some of Charlie in the past week.

One month and counting

Charlie has had a busy week. We partook in a barbeque at our good friends, Rupert, Dana and baby Emmett's place. Then mommy and Charlie went to Tacoma to have lunch out for the first time with Aunt Kaarin. Both were fun outings an we enjoyed our friends and family.

Charlie is really teaching us that he is in charge. We sleep when he wants to - yikes! Some mornings we feel really rested, but others not so much. I believe he has been in a growth spurt as he has eaten very frequently the last few days. He is now over 10 pounds and gained half a pound in 4 days. Charlie is also starting to talk a little bit for us. I took a video of that, but can't get it downloaded yet. But, here are a few pictures from this week. My camera battery died and we can't find the charger, so these are courtesy of friends.

Charles Wagner's First Few Weeks

Greetings! We have set up a place for postings and updates about little Charlie. Tomorrow he will be one month old, so it seemed like a good time to finally get this rolling. So far, he has gained a few pounds, gotten a bit chunkier (even with a roll or two on his little legs), became our top love, slept straight one night for 5 hours, learned to take a bottle from dad, enjoyed the outdoors and looking at dad's garden, endured his first small cold, and has met many family and friends.

Hopefully this blog will be a fun space for Charlie updates as well as be a connection for us with friends and family far and wide. Tom and I realize that we can't raise Charlie on our own, but do so with the love, support and often the hands of friends and family. Thanks so much!
